This tour is dedicated to anyone who wants to experience an off road adventure immersed in the wonderful landscape of our volcano.
Starting in Zafferana Etnea, we will drive towards Nicolosi passing by Monte Ilice and Eremo S.Emilia until we’ll reach Monte Arso where the old lava rock quarry of Cava Asero is located. We will continue our off road trip on board of our vehicle and drive through the lava flow of 1910. Once we’ll get on Strada Milia and pass Mounts Intraleo and Tre Frati, we will stop by Grotta del Santo, a beautiful lava tunnel that has been named after Nicolò Politi. According to the hagiography, in the XII century, Saint Nicolò lived for 3 years inside this beautiful work of nature in penance. As we continue our trip towards Bronte, the next point of interest will be Ponte dei Saraceni; a bridge that represents one of the most beautiful manmade piece of work from the mediaeval age. We will have a lunch break in Bronte where you will savor one of the delicacies of our local cuisine: The pistachio Arancino. And then we’ll get back on the vehicle and continue our drive towards Rifugio Sapienza for a quick excursion at Crateri Silvestri. Next stop will be Monte Pomiciaro where we will be able to enjoy the view of the Valle del Bove. And to finish our tour, we will stop in Piano dell’acqua for a taste of our local products.
